Hi, I’m Jason. I like a lot of things, including (in no particular order):

- Jokes (just kidding, I don’t like jokes)

- Animals (for example, cats)

- My son Eli (who isn’t born yet but will be soon)
My number one goal in life is to be financially stable without having a job. It’s not a crazy dream but a goal I’m actively pursuing. Examples:
- In July 2009, I quit my job in Austin, Texas and moved back to Michigan. By September I still hadn’t found a job and I was pretty hard up for cash, so I thought I’d make a quick buck by running a hot dog stand at my friend’s party. It turned out that not a lot of the partygoers brought their appetites and I lost, I don’t know, about 15 bucks after you count all the hot dogs I ate myself.
- Sometime in late 2009 or early 2010, I had the idea of building a website where people could find local farms, farmers markets, and other places to eat locally. By April 2010 I had built and launched Food Near You, a site that does just that. I have a plan for how it will make money but first I have to get people using it. So start using it!
